Potato patties with Groundnut and Semolina

As I said earlier I belong to North India I always feel tempted towards chaat specially Aloo ki Tikki with lots of curd and chutney. But sometimes you don't have much time to wait for your craving as on last Sunday weather was so cool with little bit of rains.

Every one in home was expecting something chat-pata from my kitchen that too instant, so prepared very simple, easy and quick Aloo ki Tikki with crunch of groundnut and crisp of sooji served with curd, chutney and chaat masala ..... giving full chat-pata taste ....



Preparation Time : 10 Min

Cooking Time : 10 Min

Resting Time : 15 Min

Ingredients :

  • 4 Boiled peeled and grated or mashed potatoes 
  • 1/2 cup sooji (Semolina)
  • 2 Tablespoon roasted and crushed groundnuts
  • 2 Chopped green chillies
  • 2 Tablespoon chopped coriander 
  • Salt according to taste
  • Chilly flakes according to taste
  • 1 Teaspoon roasted cumin powder
  • 1 Teaspoon chaat masala powder
  • Oil for shallow frying
For Garnishing :
  • 1/2 Cup Curd
  • 2 Tablespoon imli ki chutney 
  • 2 Tablespoon chopped coriander leaves
  • Chaat masala to sprinkle
Procedure :

  • Take a mixing bowl add boiled potatoes, sooji, groundnut, green chiles, coriander, salt, chilly flakes, cumin powder, chaat masala. Mix all ingredients nicely and form a dough





  • From this dough make small patties as shown in picture below


  • Keep these patties in Fridge for 15 to 20 minutes
  • Now take a pan, add oil to this and shallow fry patties till these are crisp and golden brown from both the sides 




  • You can serve the patties hot with green or red chutney 

For Garnishing :



  • You can serve these patties as chaat also, just add a tablespoon of curd and green chutney with imli ki chutney as shown in picture
  • Sprinkle some chopped coriander and chaat masala to this

Oreo Coffee Milk Shake

This one is my favourite. I can enjoy this any time as I love chocolate, Oreo, ice cream so this cup is full of happiness ...

Preparation Time : 10 Min

Cooking Time : 0 Min

Serves : 2

Ingredients :


  • 2 Cup chilled milk
  • 2 Teaspoon coffee powder
  • 2 Tablespoon sugar (or according to your taste)
  • 6 Oreo biscuits (+4 biscuits for garnishing)
  • Chocolate syrup 
  • 2 Scoops of vanilla Ice-cream (+2 scoops ice-cream for garnishing)
  • Few Ice cubes

Procedure :



  • In a blender take 3 Oreo Biscuits and form a powder of it. Keep it aside (This is for garnishing)

  • Now let us ready our glass, take glass apply chocolate syrup on the edges and now dip the glass in Oreo powder. It will stick to the glass surface as shown in picture. Now apply some more chocolate syrup on the glass it will form the pattern on glass surface as shown in picture and video. Now keep this in a freezer till your shake is ready







  • Now in a blender take milk, add sugar and coffee. Blend it nicely

  • Now Add Oreo biscuit and 2 scoop vanilla ice-cream and few ice cubes. Blend it nicely.

  • Now Take out the glass fill it with shake add a scoop of vanilla ice-cream garnish with a Oreo biscuit powder and a half biscuit 




  • Oreo Coffee Milk Shake is ready.... pamper yourself ....

Colourful Bread Patties

Colourful Bread Patties



This can be served at any time. As it is very colorful snack, kids will really enjoy it and as we know that kids don't like vegetable but sweet corn is their favorite so I have mixed vegetables with sweet corn to make it healthy and tasty for kids....


Preparation Time : 15 Min

Cooking Time : 10 Min

Ingredients :


  • 8 Brown bread slices
  • 2 Tablespoon onion finely chopped
  • 1 Teaspoon grated ginger
  • 2 Tablespoon French beans finely chopped
  • 2 Tablespoon carrot finely chopped
  • 2 Tablespoon boiled sweet corn
  • 2 Tablespoon red or green capsicum
  • 1/2 Teaspoon green chilly chopped
  • 1 Tablespoon chopped coriander
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 Tablespoon Chaat masala
  • 1 Teaspoon roasted cumin powder
  • 1 Tablespoon hot and sweet tomato sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon oil + Oil for frying
Procedure :
  • Finish all cutting and chopping of vegetables
  • In a pan, take a tablespoon of oil add chopped onion, green chilly and ginger cook it for minute

  • Now add beans and carrot, cook for minute or two

  • Add sweet corn and capsicum to this, cook it for a minute then add chopped coriander, mix it and remove it from gas

  • Now add salt, roasted cumin powder, chaat masala and tomato sauce mix all together nicely. Allow it to cool for some time



  • Take a bread remove the sides, dip it into water and squeeze it to remove water. Now put a spoon of vegetable filling on it.










  • Now wrap this bread over the filling and make a roll of it.

  • Take oil in a kadai, once it is hot, deep fry the bread wrap. Once it is done take it out on a kitchen towel so that the excess oil gets removed.



  • Serve your Colourful Bread Patties with red and green chutney.




Tip : If your kids enjoy cheese add a small cube of pizza cheese to vegetable filling they will melt and give a creamy texture to vegetables

Fruit chat is one of all time favourite serving which is served in all types of parties. But we usually serve it in a traditional way and it became soggy, so it does not look that attractive. Few days back I arranged a friends get together, the very first think in mind was to have a healthy and light food so fruit chat was the perfect option abut I wanted to serve it in some new way. So prepared Fruit Chat Shots every one liked it as it was full of flavour and crunch of canapés

Preparation Time : 20 Min

Cooking Time : 2 Min

Ingredients :

  • Fruits Of Your Choice (I used Watermelon, Kiwi, Canary Melon, Apple, Guava, Pomegranate and Strawberry)
  • 1Tablespoon lemon juice
  • Few Mint leaves
  • Chat masala according to taste
  • 1 Tablespoon Honey
  • Black salt according to taste
  • 10 Canapés (readymade available in market)
Procedure :

  • Take fruits of your choice, wash them nicely and peel them


  • Now deseed fruits and chop them into pieces or if you want to give a different look to your fruit chat cut the fruits with cookie cutter as I used.



  • Once all the cutting and chopping is over, take a bowl add all the fruits add lemon juice, honey, black salt, chat masala and roughly chopped mint leaves. Mix them all very gently 



  • Now take canapés arrange then in a baking tray and bake it in a pre heated oven for 2 minutes

  • Now fill canapés with fruit chat and garnish them with mint leaves.

Fruit Salad



  • Your simple but exotic fruit chat is ready to be served in your party ....


Tips :
  • You can use any other melon 
  • you can add mango, banana or pineapple or any other seasonal fruit
  • If canapés is not available you can use chat basket
  • If you are using cutter for chopping fruits then you have some waste portion of fruits which can be used for making juice
