Sukhe Channe (Dry Channa) 

 Sukhe chatpate kaaley chane is one of all time favourite dish to be served with puri halwa. Kala chana is a good source of protein and can be served to our growing kids as evening snacks

During navratri poojan, we serve halwa, puri and chholey as prashaad.







Preparation Time : 10 Hours

Cooking time : 40 Min

Ingredients :


  • 2 Cup Kala Chana (Soaked in Water for 6 - 8 hours)
  • 1 Teaspoon jeera
  • Pinch of Hing (Asafoetida)
  • 1/2 Teaspoon haldi powder (turmeric)
  • Salt according to taste
  • 2 Green chillies chopped
  • Chilly Powder according to taste
  • 1 Teaspoon amchoor (dry mango powder)
  • 2 Tablespoon chopped coriander
  • 1 Tablespoon cooking oil
Procedure :
  • Soak kala channa in water and keep aside for 6 to 8 hours. Add kala channa in pressure cooker along with 5 cups of water and a teaspoon of salt. Now pressure cook this for 25 to 30 minutes on low flame or till it is cooked properly. Once it is cooked separate the water from this

  • In a pan, add cooking oil after a minute add jeera, pinch of hing, haldi powder, salt , chilly powder chopped green chiles and mix it well 



  • Now add boiled kala channa to this, cook it for 5 to 6 minutes



  • Add amchoor powder and chopped coriander to this



  • Serve it with puri and halwa

Sabudana Khichadi ( Sago Snack)


Sabudana Khichadi is very easy and simple Sago snack. Perfect fasting food. Sabudana is mixed with roasted peanuts toasted with sugar, lemon and lots of  fresh coriander .....

Serves : 4

Resting Time : 3 - 4 hours

Preparation Time : 5 Min

Cooking Time : 5 - 7 Min

Ingredients :

  • 2 Cup soaked Sabudana ( sago)
  • 1/2 Cup roasted and crushed peanuts
  • 1 Teaspoon cumin seeds
  • Few curry leaves
  • 2 Green chillies chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 Teaspoon sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon lemon juice 
  • 2 Tablespoon chopped fresh coriander 
  • 2 Tablespoon Cooking oil

Procedure :
  • First of all wash Sabudana, drain it and keep aside for 3 - 4 hours and cover it with wet cotton cloth or sprinkle little water
  • Now take a kadai add oil heat it now add cumin seeds, curry leaves and chopped green chillies saute it for a minute

  • Now add Sabudana to this mix well add roasted and crushed peanuts, salt and mix well well for 2 to 3 minutes


  • Now add sugar, lemon juice and coriander mix well and cover it with lid for 3 - 5 min
  • Sabudana Khichadi is ready .....
